PHOTO TO WIN, RUNWAY TO CROWN - CHOOSING YOUR PERFECT GOWN

So you took the test! Here are the answers.

I have been observing that many times, we look at a gown and feel it’s the most beautiful piece in the entire world. However, the piece gets easier on the eyes but heavier on the stage restricting what could’ve been a solid performance. So, here’s your friendly guide to distinguish a good gown for photoshoots versus a great gown for runway

A picture is WORTH THOUSAND WORDS!

Choose a piece that has a statement element (does drama in the most subtle way)

Gowns with neck bands are great to accentuate a strong look for headshots

A variety of details (embroidery like additional details) on the evening gown or an outfit is fit for a photoshoot as it creates better depth for the pictures (which means more character and drama for you!)

A dramatic layover may work wonders for a quick editorial styling that is more fashion forward as a photoshoot

Materials like beads, fringes and dramatic collars work great in photoshoot.

PERFORM LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW

A gown that is like a second skin brings more fluidity in performance (the more you practice, the more you will glide on stage and not just walk!)

Say goodbye to the trail- I have one advice to all the pageant queens, trails are a yester-year phenomena. Trails might restrict movement. The gowns now possess a great mix of ankle length and floor length variety.

Controlled dramatic gown extensions- if you love that good old drama in gowns, this one’s for you. Opt for extensions that let you perform and not drown in it.

Side slit is great…but CENTRE SLIT is a clear winner
