All hail the new QUEEN and STYLES! Best of Styles from MISS WORLD

Miss World 2024’s evening gown parade was a delightful show to watch. With unique gowns and trends, the parade was colorful, soulful and graceful just like the essence of Miss World. Here are the top 10 gowns, as a pageant ritual, in no specific order

Like a love song, baby! - Canada

Jaime Vandenberg in a gown by Bathala International started setting a bar for the evening gown parade. The embellishments that ran across the contours of the body gave Miss Canada a chic upper east side princess look. The solid flare extensions at the back gave it a modern day ball gown look. This gown reminds me of something Princess Diana would choose to wear in 2024 for a ball.

IT girls do it BEST- Martinique

Axelle Rene from Martinique had the most outstanding gown of the Miss world 2024 season. A beautiful shoulder, and a modest side slit highlighting the svelte figure. After watching Axelle perform in this gown, it made me understand why she won the top model title. With the diamond shaped embellishments and mirror works, this gown oozes out elegance and radiance.

The New Age Black - Togo

Miss Togo, Chimene Moldaja in my opinion, had one of the most stunning black gowns I’ve seen on the Miss World stage. It is quite rare to see this color on stage but when envisioned with a blue crown, this color is just what you might need. This gown had heavy mirror work and bead work resembling rain droplets, but the slit and the structure of this dress near the bust is what really makes it a winner.

Dream a little of me (in White) - Angola

Florinda Jose from Angola started the evening gown parade for the Africas with a white gown that is simple yet one of the most majestic and regal looks I’ve seen. The experimentation with the solid white side sleeve was a needed addition in the heavy detailing of the beautiful white gown. Miss Angola styled it with simple earrings that made her look like a pure and sweet princess everyone loves to be inspired by.

The Winner takes it all (and that too in a cape) - Czech Republic

Krystyna Pyzskova’s winning gown is one of the best winning gowns in Miss World. Even if silver blending with white is quite often seen on stage, this gown is an epitome of how to do silver and white blends in the most unique, classy and queenly way. The sequin and embellished figure hugging gown with a white cape and just the right amount of fur additions was precisely the winning gown that was quite out of the world and gorgeous.

Royalty Affair - France

Miss France, Clemence Botino has started a blazing trend with a nude gown along with heavy sequin placements and bead works throughout. What made the gown absolutely unique was the sleeves that extended with the tail of the gown and gave her a look of an angel. The gown fit her perfectly like a glove and Clemence lived upto the famous French style statement on the stage of pageantry.

India’s love letter - India

Sini Shetty strided with confidence in her home country in a Falguni Shane Peacock masterpiece. The gown is a definition of modern trends that gel perfectly with the aura and grace of Miss World. The fur extensions on her arms and the perfect minimal jewelry added to the fascination of her look.

Blue for the charm and the crown - Lebanon

Yasmina Zaytoun made history for Lebanon with her placement but the beautiful blue gown for the famous blue crown was an element that set my eyes on her. With a corset top that had black and blue sequins on the upper borders continuing with a fascinating slit on the leg was perfectly mesmerizing. I love that the gown had details that did not overpower but added to Yasmina’s overall charisma.

Salute to the Culture - Malaysia

Miss Malaysia, Wenanita Angang, with her culturally significant gown got my heart and made her an instant highlight of the parade. Inspired by the mystical Jerunai of the Melanau people, this gown smartly worked the magic of modernity and heritage. The color, the crystals, the carrot cut skirt with a black slit along with the see through bustier with the right designs make this gown a solid 10/10.

Tributes in white - Turkey

Miss Turkey, Nursena Say’s white gown is in my top 10 for numerous reasons. Starting with the fact that it is a solid body hugging gown with a dove white color and flower like embellishments throughout representing the purity, the harmony and the wonderful grace of miss world. The ‘dupatta’ like addition to this gown is what makes it my favorite, primarily for two reasons, it adds to a certain Indianness and hence seems like an ode to the host country and it made the whole look simple yet unique on stage. Also, it reminds me of what Audrey Hepburn would wear as a costume in her films. I would love seeing more such trends on pageant stages that play cleverly with every detail!
