Drama and Dazzle: The best Styles from 2024 Miss Universe Philippines

Every one of you will agree if I say this edition of Miss Universe Philippines has been the toughest competition in history. On the gorgeous nights of preliminaries and finale, we got to witness the most stunning gowns and the Filipino designers have not left any stone unturned in showcasing their forms of creativity in any way. Even the gowns worn by Michelle and R'bonney were pieces of art.

The styles displayed at these evening gowns showcase their ability to be performative gowns, meaning the styles had great affinity to be more suitable for performances than just great designed pieces of fashion. They were engineered to move, bend and function as a second skin to the delegate. 

Here are the Top 10 best styles (of course, in no particular order) from the preliminaries and finale of Miss Universe Philippines 2024. 

The Dramatics that have played a very interesting role in this silhouette. From the fresh ombre of two rare colours, to the fit and the extensions of the glove, this design was very fitting for the delegate. Kudos to the designer and the atelier for providing that IT girl fit.

Simple yet chic! The most memorable performance till date, this gown complimented the delegate so well. The golden-silver blend on the side matched her makeup making her smile and expression radiating a serene power. 

Clean and Sleek! The way the delegate performed was mesmerizing, this white gown with beautiful swirls of stonework reminded us of gowns that are heavy and might not be easy to walk with but the delegate was able to ace it. For the rest of the maximalist details, the style was balanced with the minimalism of jewelry, makeup, and a classic hair updo. 

The royalty in white! The elegance just reached to the top when she entered with a feathered coat which did not drown the rather sophisticated piece but elevate it. 

The many cascades of different design elements! The style had elements that usually would be labelled as poles apart but went together as an edgy piece under the uniformity of a green colour. 

Bringing the spice, this gown was the one we couldn't resist but watch. The eye contact with the camera was her powerful edge. The winner was the V-shape structure inserted in the neckline added a dynamic design statement to a rather classic red dress.

This is called uplifting the performance while adjusting to a heavy gown. Usually, the mirror work might not go along smoothly but the delegate was able to own the stage with her beautiful smile and powerpack performance. 

Frozen vibes! She just diluted the whole vibe with this icy-silver number. The enormous petal-shaped bust piece was a different take on designs for upper bodice.
