Post 2020's, the pageant audience has seen a charming European dominance after years of stagnancy. The last icon being Iris Mittenaere, who won our hearts with her personality indeed, but she proved that a European girl knows her style. We still are captivated with Iris’ Instagram play of fashion and following her are the new age European queens who have set the stage on fire or should I say diamonds?

They Understood their Brand: The European Elegance

Karolina Bielawska’s Miss World win has been the start of a good spell for Europe. While Karolina won in an Elsa, Disney princess like gown, she delivered some of her best looks during her commendable reign as Miss World. Some of her most iconic looks being the ice blue gown she wore in Vietnam and her final walk gown. Following Karolina, we have another European Miss World from the Czech Republic who has set the game on fire. If people were not following Miss World for the lowkey fashion, they definitely are now because the recent Miss Worlds have brought their best move to the game. Krystyna Pyszkova’s white gown during the Miss World 2023 finale in Mumbai has to be one of our most favourite Miss World winning looks ever. With a cape, fur, embellishments and the right accessories, Krystyna dominated her winning night.

 Pretty in Pink- Captivating Crowns

Apart from the emerging Miss World extravaganza, we can claim that pink seems to be a European queen’s lucky colour. From Jasmine Selberg’s win in Miss International to Victoria Theilvig’s recent Miss Universe win, a pink gown can be just the right choice for a queen, epitomizing a feminine vision. Not only does it give the barbie glamour, the pink helps represent the freshness and purity that the queens are bringing into the changing world. With pink in our minds, Let’s not forget Ophely Mezino’s charming pink gown during the Miss World 2019 finale that gave her a new look and a night for the audience to cherish.

Accessorizing it the Right Way

A personal favourite pink gown would be Victoria’s winning gown for the fascinating details and more importantly the glamorous gloves with embellishments. She looked like the brightest diamond of all with a new age, purposeful and perfect barbie look. Her blonde hair added to the compliments of her pink gown. It is evident that European girls are now understanding the game of having the perfect sequins and embellishments. More importantly, they are pairing it with other details like gloves and capes that add on to an otherwise normal look.

A farewell walk pink gown that scored a place in the list for us is Drita Ziri’s final walk gown. The fierce corset details along with the ruffled tail was a perfect marriage of form and style. The feathered embellishments throughout the gown including the choker neck detail were absolutely captivating and precisely what made the gown a glory. Additionally, the gown worn by Drita to crown her successor was an ultimate treat for the eyes. The pearl white gown gave a royal look to Drita and her overall aura seemed that of a queen ready to move forward.

Nailing the Pageant Brand; 'cause Branding is Everything

Let's take an extraordinary example, Czech Republic's Mariana Beckova’s golden and green gown during the Miss Grand International finale spoke to the audience of how Europe is ready to do bold and beautiful in a new way. The draping of the tail of the gown with the wings of gold on the corset is an exceptionally innovative style to bring forward within the pool of the usual styles one sees.

Another European Queen at Miss Grand who gave the most classy and vibrant looks of all times has to be Safietou Kabengele. Her preliminary gown is one of the most stand out looks to have been witnessed in pageantry. The golden treasure box effect, with all the gems and jewels and pearls is essentially the definition of what old money would look like. The accessories including the neck pieces, the bangles and additionally the head covering were an epitome of grace, tradition and modernity.

Her finale gown was the ultimate Jasmine from Arabian Nights look. The boldness carried off by Safietou’s gowns need a new section to the dictionary for its the precise vision of new age fashion needed on stage.

Overall, Europe’s evolution in fashion & style is a true testament in understanding the pageants you are competing for and how it can lead into solid results.
